Most of the time I was at Birtley I didn't play in club competitions except for the Winter League

I did enter the occasional one and I won the Playing Fields Cup in 1982. I have a photo of me with the cup which I will add when I find it. Went to Saudi Arabia in 1983...returned 1990 but did not rejoin Birtley until 1993 Left in 1996

Playing off 20...I put 3 cards in when I joined Heworth and was given a 20 handicap. At that time I had just returned to golf after a 7 year lay off
